Denise ia an ocupational therapist with a doctorate in Education. She led low and high incidence assistive technology teams for over 20 years for Montgomery County Public Schools, MD, and led the way for systematic professional development on UDL. She was the governor appointed chair of the Maryland UDL Task Force which resulted in the incorporation of UDL principles in to Maryland education regulations. Denise is the author of three books on assistive technology, the DeCoste Writing Protocol and the Protocol for Accommodations/ uPAR. She presents at national conferences and lectures in school districts. She is currently semi-retired an living on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
