Paul Goodenough is pioneering Educational Technology in Oklahoma by serving as the first-ever Director of Education Technology, at Jenks Public Schools. He is very passionate about identifying the best technology for the classroom that will equip the graduates of Jenks Public Schools with the essential life skills they will need for the 21st century. That passion was evidenced when he proposed the creation of his current position, complete with job description, goals, and objectives. Since taking the helm in 2013, he remains extremely hands-on with his team in choosing the right technologies to implement in his classrooms, implementing those technologies, and training and supporting his teachers in using that technology to its fullest. Paul is proud to support 1:1 student device instruction, managing almost 15,000 Chrome devices through the Google management console. He also manages numerous other platforms, programs, and supporting software, and is currently replacing many paper forms with electronic forms and automating workflow processes using technology. Paul concurrently serves as an adjunct instructor for Oklahoma State University teaching Foundations of EdTech for Junior level education majors.
Prior to assuming his current role Paul enjoyed 16 years in the classroom teaching Science, Math, and Computer Technology to middle school students. While teaching, he started the first Summer School program for Middle School Aged Students using Computer-Aided Instruction for Broken Arrow Public Schools in 2000. During his time at Broken Arrow, he was proudly awarded the “Innovator Award” as well as the “Most Influential Teacher” Award 5 years running. While at Jenks, he was also presented with the “Site Teacher of the Year” Award. Paul’s credentials include a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Oklahoma State University and a BS in Science Education from Oral Roberts University. He is also a National Board Certified Teacher, holds a Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching, and is Google Admin Certified.
Paul is happily married to his wife of 19 years, Heather, who is also an educator and serves as the Secondary Social Studies Instructional Specialist for Broken Arrow Public Schools. They have two sons, Tucker 16 and Maddox 11.
