Data Based Decision Making Using Academic Data
How can an administrator, coach, or teacher use academic data more effectively and equitably to inform classroom instruction?
This course is targeted at the administrator, coach, or teacher who want to use academic data to inform instruction. Analyzing data is not new in education. Collecting data to gauge student learning (think quizzes, tests and much more) has been part of teaching from the beginning. “Collecting” other student data - their background, personality characteristics, strengths, weaknesses and much more - is a regular part of any educators day. There is more data to be collected, understood and used! How can we, as educators, learn how to effectively collect and analyze many types of academic data that’s available to better impact student learning? Where do we begin to analyze academic data? This course will provide the foundations to effectively collect and analyze academic data.
