My background in science consists of a Bachelor of Science degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries Technology from the University of Rhode Island, working for the USDA as the Town Aquaculturist on Nantucket Island, writing aquaculture curriculum and textbooks and working in an aquacultue lab, growing species for research. I received my Masters in Education from Cambridge College in Massachusetts, my teaching certifications in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and started teaching third grade in Dover, NH. I then went to Massachusetts and taught fifth grade science and writing for seven years at Howe-Manning in Middleton. After having my second child and taking two years to be home with my children, I went back to teaching in New Hampshire to teach eighth grade science at Sanborn Regional Middle School for ten years now. I also work for New Hampshire Learning Initiative on NH PACE as the Content Lead for science, and write science curriculum for The Center for Assessment. I have also worked for 2Revolutions and SNHU as an adjuct professor, teaching Competency Based Instruction and Personalized Learning in Action.
