Sara Valli, M.A., CCC-SLP is an assistive technology specialist and former tenured assistive technology faculty and coordinator of The Access Technology Center at Santa Rosa Jr. College in California where she worked directly with adults with disabilities, wrote policy related to equal access, oversaw alternative media creation and dissemination in alignment with federal and state laws and guidelines, supported the transition process of moving in person classes to fully accessible online college level classes, coordinated the assistive technology labs on two campuses, conducted assistive technology assessments and taught credit based assistive technology classes. She is a current adjunct faculty member for Fitchburg State University at their satellite site within the Collaborative for Educational Services in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she teaches graduate level special education and assistive technology classes; and facilitates professional development courses for Special Education for Institutionalized Settings (SEIS) that support the incorporation of assistive technology into core content classes. Currently Sara is a licensed and certified speech language pathologist for Fall Mountain Regional School District where she also conducts a variety of assistive technology professional development training for educators. Her specialization related to assistive technology process and software is with students with language and learning disabilities as well as those with cognitive deficits who require functional life skill based assistive technology support.
