Summary
This micro-credential represents an understanding of using OTR within the Ci3T framework. Participants complete a mini-course on OTR and then demonstrate understanding by preparing a word document, video, audio, or narrated powerpoint addressing 9 questions on effective use of OTR.
Work Flow
- Register for this micro-credential.
- Follow instructions to apply for a non-KU user id to access the Canvas mini-course for this micro-credential.
- Complete the mini-course. The mini-course is designed using quizzes that to show mastery of each lesson before continuing to the subsequent lesson.
- Return to this credential link to complete and submit your final assignment.
Choose a scenario in which you would like to provide increased opportunities to respond to a student or group. Then plan your OTR, answering questions below.
You may choose to submit your answers by uploading a file in any of the following formats:
- As written short answers in Word (.docx),
- As a video (.mp4) or audio (.mp3) recording, in which you read each question aloud and then respond to it
- As a narrated Powerpoint (.pptx) presentation. Be sure to include the questions that you are answering.
Questions to Address:
- Briefly describe the student, small group, or class for whom you would like increase opportunities to respond.
- What would be the lesson content to be taught and the instructional objective?
- List at least 5 questions, prompts, or cues you would use, related to the content
- What modality would you use to deliver the content?
- What modality would the students use to respond?
- How would you explain to your students how the format works and the rationale for using it?
- Imagine you are conducting your lesson with a minimum of 3 opportunities to respond per minute (either single-student or unison responding).
- What’s one piece of encouraging feedback you might give?
- What’s one piece of evaluative feedback you might give?
- How would you give students an opportunity to provide feedback on the OTR lesson?
