Summary
This micro-credential focuses on applying the concepts and background material introduced in the two previous micro-credentials in this series to develop action plans for personalizing education. In this module, participants learn from examples of innovative practitioners ways of supporting greater student ownership and personalization of learning, within the realities of existing systems. Participants will demonstrate understanding of the concepts of personalization and self-determination by developing an action plan to apply these concepts to current teaching and learning circumstances.

2. After you complete the learning materials, follow the link at the end of the learning materials to return to this credential page to complete and upload your assignments.

Assignment 1: Reflection
In 250-500 words, reflect on the reading and resources:
- What were the main takeaways? What did you find interesting?
- What questions persist?
- What tensions, conflicts, or challenges were described, or do you foresee?
Assignment 2: From Ideas to Practice-Using the SMART Goals Framework
The goal of this assignment is to apply the concepts presented in this series of micro-credentials to your specific educational setting. The actual type of project, scope, form, and function is up to you. You will use the SMART Goals framework to develop and structure your project plan.
- Identify a gap or opportunity for greater personalization or student ownership within your existing educational setting. Observe and research your current educational setting to identify opportunities for change. You may know intuitively, but it may be helpful to review the handbook or regulations for your educational setting, as well as the standards or educational goals specified by the educational institution.
- Develop a plan for addressing a specific problem or putting an idea into practice. Describe your project using the SMART Goals framework listed below. (Please use a word document.)
- Give your project a descriptive name or title.
- Provide 3- 4 keywords to help us focus on the main idea and context.
- Provide a brief but clear description of what you are planning to do, the problem you will address, or idea you are going to put into practice. Include comments on your learning environment and the opportunity for change you identified via the process in step 1. (250-500 words).
- Address the following areas to explain or develop your idea. You can address each area in a paragraph or bulleted list.
